A shift of awareness
Shifting attention to the familiar, ordinary and everyday good.
My pause and breathe time.
That includes writing and sketching because – hey – my heart’s an artist!
And I’m a story teller.
I call this collection Leaf and Lighthouse. To me, a leaf represents the ordinary and every day, while a lighthouse does not. Yet the lighthouse evokes images and feelings that call a pause and bring a sense of being.
Many years ago, I began something I called lighthouse meditation.
I go to the lighthouse in my head, and I only have the people and things I love and want there. I connect as I please and I disconnect as I desire. I call out to peace and awe.
As does Dustyray.

She’s a dog, and a born lighthouse meditator.
On some of our travels, when she has found a spot under a tree in the sun with the birds at full chirp, she has simply stopped and sat with the confidence that I will do so too. We have sat together, in dream awareness.

As for the drawings in these posts, made with crayons, pencils and my handwritten notes labelling squiggles you cannot possibly decipher, that’s just a bonus!
So here’s the ordinary and awesome – Leaf.
And some familiar – Creatures.
This is a memory of Night.
The weightless being of Feathery.
Experiencing Water.
Water for all creatures – Rain Sparrows.
